Carla Cortez is a Licensed Professional CounselorAssociate in the state of Texas (TX#88872) under the supervision of Dr. Jennifer Baggerly, LPC-S, RPT-S. She earned her Masters of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health with a specialization in children and adolescents from the University of North Texas at Dallas. Carla was an officer and current member in Chi Sigma Iota and the American Counseling Association.
Born and raised in Dallas, Carla is passionate about helping others and has worked in a variety of non-profit settings and has taught ESL (English as a Second Language) and SEL (Social Emotional Learning) in schools. Carla currently continues to work as a School-Based Mental Health Counselor for a local elementary school. She has previous counseling experience with an adolescent substance abuse recovery program.
