                     Meet Abby!

Abby Gillespie is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (TX #93935) in the state of Texas under the supervision of Michael Kowalski, LPC-S. She earned her Master’s degree in Counseling & Development with an Emphasis on Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas Woman’s University in August of 2023. Abby attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington for her undergraduate degree, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies.

I enjoy working with teens, adults, and families seeking counseling for a variety of issues, including: life transitions, anxiety, depression, and disordered eating. When I’m not at Spero, I am working at the Eating Recovery Center as a Program Therapist, where I support people in inpatient, residential, and partial hospitalization levels of care. I have experience working with various eating disorders, including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder, and ARFID.

I believe that no one knows clients better than themselves! Through an existential lens, I incorporate Acceptance & Commitment Therapy to help clients find meaning and acceptance, no matter where they are at in life.

In my spare time, I love spending time with my husband and two cats. I also enjoy travelling, and spending time in nature.
